Calendar of Ancestral Events Updates

Finally!  I have some time to update the website from my trip to the South in April.  It was a good trip, but I did not learn as much as I hoped.  The first week was spent in Morehead City, NC at the Carteret County Historical Museum.  I was searching for more information on the Wades, the Davises, the Benthalls, the Sanders, and the Handleys.  However, they didn't have the information I was looking for.  So now I am putting my research on the Davises and Handleys (FT-070) on hold for now.  I think there is more to be done on the others, but it will take some time.

Changes to the website:  I did update my Research Document on the Wades (RD-019).  I found a set of books titles "Cavaliers and Pioneers" about immigration into Virginia from 1607 to 1800.  I did find some information about various Robert Wades coming into Virginia, but I can't say for certain if any of those are "my" Robert Wade.  WARNING:  The last new section of the RD-019 document (Item #6 - the offensive language is on Page 17) contains some very Not Family Friendly language!  Apparently, there was a creek in Virginia named F***ing Creek, and a Robert Wade bought some land on it in 1745.  I don't think this is our Robert Wade, since ours died in Carteret County, NC in 1745.  IT's possible, but unlikely.  Of course I looked this creek up in Google Maps (not named that any longer - I can't imagine why), and found a quote (included in the RD-019 document) about other places given Not Family Friendly names.  So either DON'T read that part, or do what I did - read it and crack up, thinking "Yeah, that would be my ancestors!"

I also updated my Family Tree document (FT-023) on Isaiah Lewis and Martha Rivers Bishop, due to some information and pictures I took when my brother, sister-in-law, and I went to Carter Cemetery in Hamilton, AL.

I have also added tons of new Sources (917 to 970a).  There are skips in the numbers of the Sources, as sometimes I am doing research for someone not in our Family Tree, and there is no sense in adding documents for people who are not in our Family Tree (at least not directly).  Some of these Sources will belong to new Family Tree documents that I have not created yet - especially those Sources relating to Ephraim Lewis (the grandfather of Isaiah Lewis).  Still working on that guy.  He may have been a Revolutionary War hero, but he was one cantankerous cuss - always suing someone or being sued by someone!

I am adding a new item below in the section titles "Big Genealogy Map!".  It is an Excel file, so you will need Excel to open it.  It is basically my "tracking" of the research I am doing, and it is ALWAYS changing and is NEVER complete.  But I will try to update it here whenever I make changes so that if there is an interest, you may be able to find the links as to how I am working from family to family.  But mainly think of this as a rough guide as to where I am in my research.
