January 31, 2024
In the Calendar today, I added the birth and death dates for James Edward "Bud" Wilson and Bessie Emily Jackson (and their children except for Mattie Lou Wilson). I added the birth and death dates for James Houston Lewis and Mary Rebecca Brown.
Quick update, even though I just updated yesterday. I have uploaded a pdf file in the Stories 2 section of this website (go to the top left of this page and click on the 3 bars icon, then Select "Stories 2", and you can get to a new story about our connection to Ginger Rogers. I thought I had already uploaded this story a few months ago, but I guess I forgot!
Take care, everyone.
I have gone as far as I can on Isaiah Lewis, my 3rd Great Grandfather. I have uploaded a pdf file in the Stories 2 section of this website (go to the top left of this page and click on the 3 bars icon, then Select "Stories 2", and you can get to my summation of all my research.
I have laid out all my research on Isaiah's Civil War Service, and also identified where he lived prior to the Civil War, just southwest of Hamilton, AL The last few pages of the story show the maps of where Isaiah and Peter (his brother) lived.
I am now going to move away from Isaiah, and probably move to his parents - John Boley Lewis, Sr. and Lucinda Bush. I will leave the December update up on this page, as it's only been there for less than a month.
That's enough for today. Take care, everyone.
It's been a while since I updated the website. I have been working on Isaiah Lewis and his service in the 1st Alabama Cavalry (U. S.). I have posted some stories to my Facebook page on Isaiah. Once I am done creating those, I will put them here in the Stories section of this website. Sorry for the delay, but there have been a lot of books to acquire and read to put together his story.
Another update is my DNA analysis shown above. Ancestry.com has update the DNA analysis of everyone, and I am impressed with the results! My Swedish and Finnish roots are still there at 5% total, but now there is much more detail in the English (50% of my DNA) and Celtic (44% of my DNA) parts of the Old World. The English roots are broken down into areas that really match what I am seeing in the genealogical research. I have definitely found direct ancestors in the 4 regions mentioned for England.
I have also found direct ancestors to match the 3 Celtic regions mentioned. PLUS, there is a new region listed at 1% of my DNA! I am 1% Acadian - Canadian French. I have been getting some hints of a Canadian link in my research, but I didn't know whether to trust that hint or not. Now I know that I need to research that a little more!
That's enough for today. I will work to do the update for Isaiah Lewis in the next month or so. Take care, everyone.
This is a new section I am adding to identify mistakes that others have found in my work.
January 31, 2024 - I have uploaded a new FT-004 which gives Aunt Mary's correct death year of 2023.

I (John Sharp) am trying to provide a 1-stop place where family members can access all of the information that I have collected about our ancestors. I have tried sending the information on USB storage devices and a Facebook page, but maybe this will be easier for everyone.

This site has a lot of information on it! There are:

If you go up to the top of this webpage, you can see the 3 little bars on the top left. If you click on these 3 bars, you will see every page that is on the website. There are pages for Stories, for Family Tree Documents, for Research Documents, and Sources (many pages of Sources!). So you can go to whatever page you want from there. The Stories Pages might be a good place to start, then if you want to dive in deeper on a family or person, you can go to the Family Tree document or others. Just keep digging down!
